You have plenty of time to train, and I hear the dash is super fun. PLUS you get a fuzzy viking helmet! Find a friend to sign up with you if you need the extra push. If it helps at all, I think you are a warrior already :)

I Can't Believe It's Not Potatoes!
Turnip Fries! Even if you do not like turnips, you should try this recipe if you’re looking for a good potato substitute. The turnips do not taste turnip-y at all. They’re not very crispy like regular fries, but they do the job! Add some garlic… so good.
